6 September 2026 - About this summer's fundraising
June and July was The Lamb's 'Summer of Love' - and boy, did you show it! Here is an update on how much was raised by you all.
During June and July, we carried out an intense period of fundraising, generating much-needed money to help pay for things like the detailed condition survey (now completed) and other professional expenses linked to our campaign to save The Lamb pub for the local community.
We promised to be transparent about our fundraising. So here are some of the amazing numbers:
Our fundraising started with the England v Croatia football game on 17 June and finished with the World Cup Final on 19 July.
In that period, we operated five Friday Night Bars at the village hall.
Two were also blockbusting 'Lamb Sessions' band nights.
We delivered a car boot sale for the village on 12 July.
We provided bar services for our dear friend Jill Lever's wake on 24 June.
In total we had 13 fundraising events at the village hall during the period.
Our gross takings for the period were a whopping £10,679.10.
Our costs for the period were:
Food / Drinks / Bands / Sundries: £4,962.66
Village Hall Hire / Costs: £1,086.25
This gave us a contribution for the period of £4,630.19.

Everyone who has helped set up the bar, run the bar, set up the footie screenings, organise the food trucks, made food, served food, cleaned everything up afterwards...

Fundraising continues again this month, starting with a band night on Saturday 19 September.
Come and see BREAKER - a local band that is rapidly getting serious national attention and playing across the UK. They describe themselves as alt-rock/indie - we just describe them as brilliant.
BREAKER are headlining the Crauford Arms on 23 October, but you can see them first FOR FREE at Stoke Goldington Village Hall on 19 September from 7pm.
