As a first step to put in our bid to buy The Lamb for the local community, we have created a legal company (and done another full viewing of the site)
We are preparing to put in a bid to buy The Lamb from the current owners.
We have to lodge our intention to do this (with MK Council) by 2 September 2025. To help us do this legally, we have set up a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee in the first instance. The company is called The Lamb SG Community Pub Ltd (company number 16652879).
We then have six months to put in the bid itself.
We have a lot of useful information to help us put in a robust and realistic bid:
An independent report and valuation by Sidney Phillips, chartered surveyors and specialists in licensed premises
Several detailed viewings of the pub and the associated land
Advice from Plunkett, and a lot of data from other community pubs
Advice from CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) and the British Beer and Pub Association
Within the next few months, we will be starting our fund raising.
This includes sharing a full prospectus of what's on offer, including a business plan, ways to support us with community shares, donations, loans and grants, and details of other ways in which you can be involved in the future of The Lamb.
The intention is to covert the company into a Community Benefit Society. Read our FAQs for more details on this.
